Natural Ingredients in Asian Culture for Glowing, Youthful, Radiant Skin

Asia is not only rich in traditions and cultures but also ancient medication usage. Some of them are Ayurveda, acupuncture, meditation, and yoga. Asian cultures also have rich beauty secrets that have lived for centuries. These beauty mysteries include the use of natural elements to lighten the skin and reduce skin blemishes.

It is no surprise since many Asian people cherish and long for white and perfect skin, especially women.

Here are five Ancient Asian treatments which bring youthfully, glowing and radiant skin.

Pearl Powder:

Pearl Powder

The pearl powder is applied to whiten the skin of imperial women in the Chinese royal period. Even Wu Zetian, the only empress in Chinese history, incorporated pearl powder as one of her beauty routines due to some advantages presented by this powder.

Pearl powder contains many minerals and vitamins that make your skin radiant. It has an essential protein, called nacre, which gives a whitening outcome and reduces the appearance of scars and sunspots.

Besides nacre, pearl powder contains another organic protein, conchiolin. Conchiolin animates collagen production. This protein also serves as a skin exfoliator that eliminates dead skin cells plus moisturizes the skin. As an outcome, your skin looks younger, suppler, and brighter.

Furthermore, the amino acid inside pearl powder secures the pores to stop acne production. Last but not least, the use of pearl powder defends the skin from UV rays, thus evade pigmentation and skin damage.

Although pearl powder is a notice in many beauty products, including skin lotions, face masks, and face powders, you can experience its advantages by making your personal homemade pearl powder mask.

How to Make Pearl Powder Mask:

·      Mix 1 teaspoon of pearl powder with 2-3 teaspoons of olive oil or rose water for the dry skin

·      Apply the mask to the skin and keep it on for about 15 minutes

·      Rinse with warm water

White Rice:

White rice is generally eaten by Asian people, especially in Eastern and South-Eastern parts. Although those on the diet plan usually avoid it, it incredibly gives “magic” to skin and hair.

Cleaning your face with white rice water removes the dead skin cells and makes your skin brighter and smoother. Besides, regular use of this water improves collagen as well as retains skin elasticity. The vitamins B1, C, E, minerals, and ferulic acid produce anti-aging advantages. Also, it contains allantoin to lessen excessive oil production, thus limiting facial acne.

There are two techniques to gain the advantages of white rice for beauty purposes; white rice skin mask, and rice water.

Cherry Blossoms/ Sakura:

Cherry blossom is identical to Japanese tradition. That’s why the Cherry blossom is considered the national flower of Japan. There is even a yearly event held in spring to experience the beauty of this flower, which is called Hanami.

Sakura is not only beautiful but also helpful for the skin.

Similar to pearl powder and white rice, modern science has shown that Sakura brings anti-aging advantages, too. That is due to its antioxidant qualities. Which stops early aging and defends the skin from free radicals.

Fatty acids inside the Sakura repair the skin’s natural obstacles to promote supple and smooth skin. The anti-glycation animates collagen production, lightens irregular pigmentation, and reduces melanin production as well. Additionally, it succeeds in sunburn caused by extreme sun exposure.

Curcumin has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities. which produces a natural radiance to your skin. This important element also works with hyperpigmentation as well as decreases melanin.

Just like other elements discussed before, turmeric also can reduce signs of aging with its antioxidants. Furthermore, if you undergo acne, curcumin could benefit since it has anti-bacterial qualities.

The frequent usage of turmeric helps to avoid skin damage from the sun. Turmeric reduces MMP-2 (Matrix Metalloproteinase-2), an enzyme that reduces collagen between the middle and outer layer of the skin.
